Jenny Streit-Horn & Jan Holden - A Systematic Review of Research on After-Death Communication
Between 1984 and 2009, researchers published over 35 studies of after-death communication (ADC) involving thousands of people who reported having experienced ADC (ADCrs). However, because of the widely varying nature and quality of methodology between studies, conclusions have been difficult to draw regarding even the most fundamental facts about ADCs, such as their prevalence. In this presentation, we describe a study in which ADC studies were systematically evaluated, yielding a ranking of the studies by methodological quality, and the results: the most definitive estimates of various ADC phenomena, beginning with their prevalence. Attendees, including healthcare providers, will leave with a one-page research-based fact-sheet summary of ADC, including 2-3 recommended resources, that they can use to educate ADCrs including those who are medical, mental, social, and/or spiritual healthcare patients/clients.
