![]() Diane Corcoran, PhD, RN Durham, NC Dr. Corcoran is retired from 25 years of service as a military nurse. Having published on topics of nursing education and management as well as NDEs, she will co-present with Debbie James, MSN, RN, CCRN, “Practical and Ethical Applications of NDE Research for Palliative, End-of-Life and Other Clinical Care and Educational Settings” during Segment 1 and will co-present and moderate panel discussions during Segment 2.
Since hearing U.S. Army soldiers in Viet Nam describing their near-death experiences, combat NDEs have remained one of Dr. Corcoran's central professional interests. She earned a BSN in Nursing, an MA in Educational Psychology, and a PhD in Nursing Management. She has served as President of the International Association for Near-Death Studies and serves currently on that organization's Board of Directors as Secretary and chair of the Research Committee. As President of Corcoran Consulting, she consults with a variety of professional organizations on topics of nursing education, nursing management, and near-death experiences. |
