Dr. Wilkinson belongs to a special group of healthcare professionals: trained in nursing, oncology, educational psychology, counseling, and end-of-life issues; having worked as a healthcare provider, researcher, and educator; experienced with patient populations ranging from pediatric to gerontological; and having a personal history that includes a near-death experience. Dr. Wilkinson will speak on "Sharing Near-Death Experiences: A Therapeutic Use of Self" during Segment 2

Dr. Wilkinson's work experience includes the coordination of research in pancreatic, colorectal, and esophageal oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, where she also completed an internship in pediatric oncology; service as consultant, counselor, and trainer for the Life Transitions Center and Buffalo Hospice in Buffalo, NY; and her current position in forensic psychology. Since her own near-death experience, Dr. Wilkinson has researched and published on the subject of loss, death, and dying. She has provided numerous courses, workshops, and talks on the subject to medical, psychology, and counseling audiences in a number of higher education, community, and media venues. She also has studied alternative medical approaches including Dolores Krieger's Therapeutic Touch, Barbara Brennan's energy healing, and indigenous healing practices.
